Piła is a garden city, picturesquely situated at the Gwda river, which flows through the city centre. It is a place surrounded by numerous lakes and forests and it neighbours the Kuźnik Reserve. Woodlands and wooded areas represent more than half of the administrative area of Piła.

Much of the city was qualified for the Natura 2000 areas, including “Puszcza nad Gwdą” (Gwda River Forest) as special protection area, and “Ostoja Pilska” (Piła Wildlife Sanctuary) as special area of conservation.

You do not have to leave the city centre to rest actively. In the city there is no shortage of places that offer recreation and relaxation in the green¬ery. Parks, the river (ideal for canoeing), hiking and cycling routes -

it is impossible to get bored.
