GWDA RIVER
Piła is located in the lower reaches of the Gwda river. The river, due to low drop, flows slowly through the city, meandering. In particular, well-formed meanders of the Gwda river can be admired further down Piła (in the region of Kalina, Motylewo and Byszki). The length of the river within the city limits is nearly 30 km.

STANISŁAW STASZIC CITY PARK
The historic city park, of which the oldest part dates back to 1900, is a charming place, covered by conservation maintenance. It forms a rich concentration of different species of trees and shrubs. There are, among others, maidenhair-trees, laurel oaks, pin oaks and silver maples from Canada (used for making popular maple syrup). In the depths of the park, there is an attractive iron gazebo of distinguished craftsmanship from 1904, situated at the park pond. Bridges with wrought-iron railings, pergolas and a flowing stream add charm to the place. On the Edge of the park, there is a wattle and daub building - former seat of Dom Strzelecki (Rifle House), now a guesthouse and restaurant.Recently renovated park has many walking paths, as well as a safe playground for children connected to “green” maze. It is an ideal place for meetings and relaxation. In the summer months, there are organised “Park Meetings” - live music concerts in the open air, highly popular with locals and visitors. It is also an ideal place for lovers of yoga - “Yoga in the Park” is another proposal for a summer in Piła.

ISLAND PARK
In 1976-1978, on a marshy island between the two arms of the Gwda river, a park was created of about 10 hectares. Today, the Island Park, called the “heart of Piła”, becomes a centre of cultural and entertainment events in the summer. The place is a venue for concerts, festivals, sporting events, as well as reproductions of historical battles. Beach, palm trees, seaside sand, canoe harbour - form another leisure proposal at the Piła Island Park. The residents of Piła are eager to enjoy the beach in the summer, to sunbathe and organize competitions and games for children.

LAKES
The nature surrounded Piła with a garland of small, clean lakes located in forests. The most crowded, not only in the summer, is a crystal clear Płocie Lake situated in the north-eastern part of the city.
Accommodation facilities of the Płotki Recreation Centre and sailing gear rentals make this corner known and loved, whereas camps and summer holidays organised here are unforgettable.
Cycling lovers appreciate the fact that the lake is connected with the city centre by a cycling route. Every year, the Piła swimming areas are visited by thousands of residents and tourists from all over Poland.

KUŹNIK RESERVE
The Kuźnik Landscape Reserve is a true gem, located in the north-western part of Piła and protected since 1959. The Reserve is one of the most interesting and most valuable natural areas of the region. Its area - 96 hectares - is protected due to interesting landscape, created centuries ago by glaciers. It comprises two lake troughs: Rudnickie Lake, with the Ruda river running through, and Kuźnicka trough including small lakes, Kuźniczek, Mały Kuźnik and Duży Kuźnik. Between them there is a moraine hill - Cygańska Góra, which offers a panoramic view of both the Rudnickie Lake and Kuźnik.
The picturesque landscape offers many unforgettable memories. It is a paradise for wildlife lovers and watchers. An ideal place to study natural sciences, which has a relatively long tradition in the Reserve.
KOSZYCE RESERVOIR
Opposite to the Kuźnik Reserve there is Koszyce Reservoir, well known to all Piła residents – a paradise for anglers who can test their skills in numerous tournaments. The Koszyce Reservoir also draws fans of water sports, such as windsurfing and sailing.
Northwest of the city extends another beautiful landscape reserve “Wielkopolska Dolina Rurzycy” (Rurzyca Valley of the Greater Poland).
